If it's about picking a side, I chose Edward and his wife. But, what was in control on the other side and maybe right under his nose, resisting Edward's wisdom to have a Dutch benefit and why? Edward 's policy was the active hand in the economy but could one man carry out all of the task? The answer is yes; and no. Yes; he could in Holland where people do as they are told but in an Anglo Creole economy with this Christopher Columbus ship captain DNA fighting for control of the Captain's wheel ( for the economy) it was a wrestle and an unusual battle of the wills.
